Digital Exhibit / Resource Curator / Contributor

Want to take on a larger project with more independence? Our current focus while we work remotely is on the creation of digital resources that feature the history of the Lakeshore Grounds or the surrounding Etobicoke-Lakeshore communities.

Perhaps you want to research and build a digital exhibit - or maybe you're interested in creating an audio tour. We'll work with you to flush out your idea, support you through the creation, and help you build it on our website to share with the public.

Commitment Levels

We generally work on projects that require a minimum of one semester to complete and ask that volunteers be available to spent at least a couple of hours a week during that time.

Skills Required

  • An interest and enthusiasm for local history, culture, and storytelling;

  • Excellent communication and writing skills;

  • Reliable and organized;

  • Respect, patience, and courtesy with all staff and fellow volunteers;

  • Research experience (or previous museum / gallery experience) an asset.

Training

Volunteers will receive one-on-one support from the Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre staff as they formulate the project plan. Additional training will depend on the project requirements and the previous experience / skill of the volunteer.
