Meet the Team

Michelle Ransom (She/Her)
Collections Assistant

Michelle Ransom is an emerging museum professional with a passion for sharing history through artifacts and social media. Her main interest is Canadian history with a focus on the Toronto area, as well as material culture.

 

Michelle received her Bachelor's of Arts (Hons.) degree from Toronto Metropolitain University in English and History. She also holds a Graduate Certificate from Fleming College in Museum Management and Curatorship. At Fleming, she helped to develop the cohort's exhibition by researching and developing panels and as a member of the project management team.

 

Michelle has worked in the museum field for a few years and gained experience in various areas of the museum sector. Her main interest is collections work where she enjoys preserving and sharing an object and its history. She has gained collections experience through some local museums such as the Toronto Railway Museum and the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, and some farther institutions including the Sharon Temple National Historic Site & Museum located in East Gwillimbury and Hutchison House Museum in Peterborough.

 

Michelle's role will help document and care for existing collections materials, including postcards, bricks, and feathers!
