Filming on the Lakeshore Grounds
The buildings and grounds of the former Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital are again transformed into the Police Academy campus for the new citizen recruits as part of Police Academy III.
G Building
The franchise returns to the Lakeshore Grounds in a dramatic fashion, with Sergeants Jones (Michael Winslow) and Mahoney (Steve Guttenberg) driving their car into the front gardens after their windshield is hit with a golf ball that Commandant Lassard (George Gaynes) sends flying out his office window. Like the earlier iterations of the series, Lassard's office is located on the second floor of what is today Humber College's G Building, above the arched east entrance.
The Bowl
Wondering what happened to the in-ground pool where the Officers and recruits party in Police Academy IV? It was a temporary installation used only during production. The pool was located in the natural, tree-lined bowl area just east of F Building.
Not convinced? Look carefully in the background of the scene and you'll see the unmistakable red-brick cottage buildings poking through the trees.
