It is uncommon for productions to publicly release extensive details about their filming, often using code names to help dispel the crowds who may otherwise gather to watch a favourite actor or to avoid revealing a key plot element. When Private Eyes filmed on the Lakeshore Grounds, they took the opposite approach by detailing the scenes they would be shooting, the buildings and segments of the grounds that would be used, and the schedule they would be following. Much of this approach was the result of their use of actors in military fatigues who carried replica firearms and other simulated weapons around an active college campus and through a public park.
