About the Creator

Sheriza Anne De Guzman

Sheriza was a volunteer Curatorial Intern at the Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre during the Winter of 2020. She created this digital resource as part of the placement for her post graduate studies in Arts Administration and Culture Management at Humber College.

As a culture and heritage enthusiast, Sheriza finds way to broaden her knowledge in the arts and culture sector and is close to finishing her Masters in Cultural Heritage Studies. She recently completed a Harvard verified certificate in Tangible Things: Discovering History through Artworks, Artifacts, Scientific Specimens, and the Stuff around You. Sheriza is also the social media manager and one of the project managers of the digital exhibit called AncesTree: How are WE related?

Being new to Canada, Sheriza is grateful to the Interpretive Centre team for their trust, support, and mentorship, as well as for giving her a chance to show-off her digital and researching skills.

(The original plan for this project was to photograph the actual locations featured as they appear now - however, due to the health and safety protocols issued by the government in March of 2020 in relation to the global pandemic, we were forced  to postpone this portion of the project. For the time being, we have opted to use Google Image Capture to represent the present-day photos of this digital resource.)
