About the Exhibit

Through a Lens, Brightly was a photography exhibit presenting a collection of photos taken by Nancy Barrett that featured the flora and fauna of Colonel Samuel Smith Park. This was the inaugural exhibit for the Third Floor Gallery which coincided with the opening of the Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre, and both the Student Welcome and Resource Centre and Fitness Centre buildings on January 26, 2017.  This uplifting view into the lives of various wildlife animals in our area brought a new perspective on the art and beauty of nature in local greenspaces.

Interpretive Centre team:

Jennifer Bazar, Curator
Ben Mitchell, Curatorial Assistant
Kara Seguin, Programming Assistant

About the Artist

"Me" by Murray, Nancy and black-capped-chickadee

A self-taught wildlife and nature photographer based in Toronto, Nancy has felt an affinity and keen curiosity for the wonders of the natural world since childhood.

Nancy endeavours to express that passion through her work with the camera; she has travelled to places as far-flung as Africa and Belize, but continues to be inspired by the abundance of wildlife right here in the green spaces and hidden corners of the big city.
